Farewell to the French ship L’Adroit
After more than one month of deployment in EUNAVFOR MED operation Sophia, the French Patrol Boat L’Adroit is now on her way back to Toulon.
Since her arrival in the area of operations, on 22 June, FS L’Adroit provided great support to the operation, contributing to deter the illegal trafficking of arms, to gather relevant information about the smuggler’s maritime activities and business model, according to the UN arms embargo on Libya – UNSCR 2292 (2016) and UNSCR 2357 (2017).
During her mission, the crew was reinforced by a detachment of Navy Marines, along with a specialized team in detecting explosive devices. It has been an important support for improving the expertise and detection capabilities in counter illegal arms trafficking.
FS L’Adroit will be replaced in few weeks by the FS Commandant Ducuing that will join EUNAVFOR MED to continue her excellent job.
